A Season for Thankfulness – Research Task Forces

We are incredibly grateful for our CLDR Research Task Force team members.  This past year, there have been two different CLDR research task forces working hard to build evidence and knowledge to help build sustainability for our organization, establish an evidenced-based foundation for our services, and create new knowledge through scientific exploration.

The first task force has been working steadily on a qualitative study that sought to explore the barriers related to certified child life specialists integrating into the disaster relief field.  IRB was obtained, data was collected, analysis completed.  We are now working hard on finalizing our publication to send for journal review.  Thank you to the members of this task force for your patience, commitment, and dedication throughout this strenuous process!

The second CLDR research task force has just began its work to gather, summarize, and chart relevant research for our services in disaster relief.  We have been evaluating research published with regard to the affects of disasters on children and families, current disaster systems, interventions available and their effectiveness, etc.  Our hope is to provide these articles in annotated bibliography form as a resource on our webpage when complete.  Thank you to the members of this task force for your drive and ambition to ground our work in research!
