We at, Child Life Disaster Relief, are severely concerned about the separation of children and families at the U.S. border and stand with many other professional organizations against this cruel and inhumane action. Separating children from their families has both short- and long-term serious effects for their development, health, and society as a whole that cannot continue to go ignored. Traumatically, over 2,300 children have been separated from their families at the border – with that number increasing each hour, each day.
Child Life Disaster Relief is currently working thoughtfully to determine how we can support children and families being effected in a purposeful, sustainable, and effective manner. We will provide updates on this progress as soon as any are available. In the meantime, if you are looking for action to take, please contact your state representatives and express your professional opposition to this crisis.
