Alexis Hicks

Alexis Hicks (she/her) is a passionate advocate, strategist, and community organizer committed to advancing equity and healing in communities most impacted by systemic injustice. With a Master’s in Social Justice & Criminology from Delta State University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Mississippi, she brings a justice-centered lens to every aspect of her work.

She currently serves as Director of Strategic Engagement and Initiatives at Casey Family Programs, where she leads the Delta Proud Youth Initiative—a regional, cross-sector collaboration improving academic and post-secondary outcomes for students from underserved communities in the Mississippi Delta. Her work centers on building community-driven solutions through deep stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and sustainable partnerships.

Throughout her career, Alexis has championed efforts in reentry advocacy, public health, and education, collaborating with organizations such as the Mississippi Early Learning Alliance, Teen Health Mississippi, Mississippi Reentry Coalition, and Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition to drive systems change. A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., she exemplifies servant leadership rooted in compassion—ensuring that those too often excluded are heard, valued, and empowered to lead.

As a board member of Child Life Disaster Relief, Alexis is honored to support its mission to uplift children and families in crisis. Her lived experience, deep community ties, and unwavering belief in the power of collective impact make her a fierce advocate for trauma-informed, equity-centered approaches that promote dignity, healing, and long-term resilience.
