Kristy Woodwyk, BAA, CCLS, CPST

Kristy Woodwyk has been a Certified Child Life Specialist since November 2010 and a Certified
Child Passenger Safety Technician since November 2012.

She started working at Bronson Children’s Hospital July 2012, as a Child Life Specialist in the Pediatric and PICU Departments part time. She then became full time in 2013, working on Pediatric/PICU, as well as Radiology Department part time and piloting Child Life Services in the Surgical Inpatient and Outpatient Departments.

She then became full time in the Surgical Inpatient and Outpatient departments
in 2014 providing surgical preparation, procedural support and distraction, therapeutic and medical play, operation room and postoperative support. In 2017, she accepted a position in the Hematology/Oncology and Sub-Specialty Clinics collaborating with the hospital team members to promote family-centered care by helping with each step of a patient’s journey from hospitalization, diagnosis and treatments.

Kristy became certified through Children’s Disaster Services through Brethren Disaster Ministryin May 2015. Unfortunately, she has not had the pleasure of being deployed but is very excited to be serving her local area as a Local Program Manager. Kristy is enthusiastic about helping children and their families in her community through unexpected disaster events.
