On January 7, Puerto Rico was struck by its strongest earthquake since 1918 and has since experienced over 1,000 aftershocks. It has been just over two years since Hurricane Maria devastated the island and Puerto Ricans are struggling with the effects of another natural disaster. It’s yet another crisis that reminds us of the growing vulnerabilities and challenges children on the island face.
In the wake of this latest disaster, Child Life Disaster Relief is sending Certified Child Life Specialists (CCLS) to work with the children struggling to find their new normal. CCLSs have extensive experience providing direct support to children impacted by trauma.
CLDR has a funding need of $6,000 to send additional teams over the next several weeks to continue providing child life services for children and families in Puerto Rico impacted by the devastation. Will you join us?
Any funds raised above and beyond this goal will be thoughtfully used for furthering the mission of CLDR at home and abroad.
