Lori received her Master’s degree in Child Life Services from University of La Verne in 2002 and began her career as a Certified Child Life Specialist at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital where she was introduced to child life services in the Emergency Department with a Level 1 trauma unit.  Lori’s passion and advocacy for children and families was ignited that first year.

Lori moved to San Francisco in 2003 where she was given the opportunity to develop and grow child life services within an adult emergency department at California Pacific Medical Center.  Lori she spent the next 12 years learning from, advocating for and supporting children experiencing trauma first hand. Throughout her child life journey, Lori has served families in a variety of settings such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before becoming the supervisor of the Novack Family Life Program.

Lori first deployed with Children’s Disaster Services in 2018 for the Camp Fire in Northern California’s Butte County, although her deployment was short, she knew this was a population she would like to continue to serve.
