Shannon has been working with children in the volunteer and professional realms for the past 18 years and recently shifted focus to working with hospitalized children through the field of Child Life.

Shannon has been a certified child life specialist since 2017 and has been working at Boys Town National Research Hospital since 2017 primarily in the ambulatory surgical unit and inpatient psychiatric units and assisting with coverage in the advanced care unit and general pediatric unit as needed.

Shannon became involved with Child Life Disaster Relief to help fill a need in the Omaha community to assist children during times of natural disasters and will be completing the Children’s Disaster Services training in October of 2019.
