Tracy Munt

Tracy Munt has been a Certified Child Life Specialist since 2003.  She studied Human Development and Family Studies with a Child Life emphasis at Colorado State University.  Serving communities in Denver, Baltimore, and Northern Virginia, Tracy has had the opportunity to work with diverse populations navigating their health care journeys.

Tracy primarily began working with children and families in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Intermediate Care Unit at the University of Maryland Medical Center, and later at LJ Murphy Inova Children’s Hospital.   After several years, Tracy had the opportunity to initiate child life services in the Cardiac Cath lab and transitioned to serving Pediatric Cardiology patients throughout the hospital.  Tracy was an active member and chair of the Pediatric Bereavement Committee and hospital liaison for the TenderHearts parent support group for children with CHD (Congenital Heart Defects).

Utilizing her Child Life background, Tracy was a volunteer co-facilitator for a teen grief group at The Center for Grieving Children in Portland, Maine.  Continuing her passion to support grieving youth and their families, Tracy accepted a position as a Grief Care Manager at Judi’s House in Denver.  She helped guide families through the initial enrollment process to participate in 10 week long, trauma informed, therapeutic grief groups, assessing their unique needs and helping connect them to additional resources in their communities.

Currently, Tracy provides part time weekend child life coverage for Pediatrics at LJ Murphy Inova Children’s Hospital and serves as one of Child Life Disaster Relief’s Local Program Managers for the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia area.
