UPDATE: The CDS deployment to Saipan was cancelled late last night. We are grateful for the volunteers who were willing to make the journey.
Late October, Super Typhoon Yutu struck the U.S. Northern Mariana Islands; the winds up to 180mph have left many without electricity, water, or a roof over their heads. Our partner, Children’s Disaster Services, has been called in by the American Red Cross to provide support to the many children and families affected by this ravaging storm on the island of Saipan. At this time, we have two Certified Child Life Specialists who are deploying, Katie Nees and Carol Weis. Please continue to keep all those impacted by this typhoon, in your thoughts and prayers, as well as, the volunteers who are serving.
