This webinar for Certified Child Life Specialists explores how compassion and curiosity can be powerful tools in understanding and integrating cultural strengths into post-disaster support to foster resilience.

About Our Presenter: 

Genevieve Lowry has been a Certified Child Life Specialist since 1990, with experience in both medical and community settings. She is currently a faculty member in the Child Life Program at Bank Street College of Education. Genevieve has presented at conferences, published articles and book chapters, and co-edited The Role of the Child Life Specialist in Community Settings.

In addition to her academic role, she provides consulting services to a wide range of organizations, schools, and nonprofits, offering workshops, educational training, supervision, and online resources. She is also trained as a Reiki Teacher and in guided imagery. Her certifications include Infant Massage Educator, End-of-Life Doula, and Clinical Trauma Specialist.

Genevieve earned her undergraduate degree from Wheelock College and her Master’s degree from Fordham University.
