Local CARE Teams
About CARE Teams
We know that disasters start and end at a local level. Empowering, equipping and educating the communities that we live and work in will help them better support children after disasters.
Each team is made up of 1-2 program manager volunteer(s). Our Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) program managers work with CCLS’s that are interested in becoming local responder volunteers within a 50-mile radius of the community. The program manager, with the support of the local responders, engages in community outreach and education on the unique needs of children impacted by disaster.
The CARE Team is also able to respond with community organizations virtually and in person when a disaster occurs.
